The Ostrich and the gale force winds.

On 7 July 2024 i set off looking for a young warthog boar on GrassRidge Lodge, our main base in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. As soon as I arrived at GrassRigde the weather started to change from sunny to windy and cloudy. After checking the rifle, my trustworthy 2027, I set off to see if I could get a warthog. Not long into the stalk I spotted a sow and yearlings, I quickly had a good look to see if I didn't mis the boar. I quickly made way around them as they were busy chilling and not bothered with the rest of the world. After about an hour the first rain drops started to fall and I had to make my way back to the truck. I grabbed something to eat and waited to see if the rain shower will pass. After about 30 minutes it stopped raining. I set off with the farm owner and we were talking about hunting Ostriches, as we have over 70 on the farm and ideally only want 40-50. As we come to a place, we call the Truksvy vlak we saw the female Ostrich that normally spook all the animals in the area. I said I want to shoot her. He was hesitant due to the fact that there where gale force winds at the time. I got out of the truck and start to stalk in on her with the wind in my face. I made it to -+ 100-meter form her with the shooting sticks out the vortex viper on top off the leg halfway up the body the bullet hit the target and sent her down where she stood. She looked like an ordinary Ostrich, but infact she was the biggest Ostrich hunted on GrassRidge in the 7 years since Mario's father bought the farm.
